Books by Dr Sarah Caney
Caring
for a Cat with Kidney Failure is an excellent publication
written by Dr Sarah Caney, the well-known international feline specialist
and one of the CVE’s tutors in Feline Distance Education.
This book is designed
to educate owners about all of the aspects of caring for cats with renal
failure and can be used by veterinarians to supplement the general advice
given during a consultation. It covers far more than most time-poor vets
could hope to in the consulting room, and is a very-well written and presented
reference point for owners while caring for their sick cats.
Caring
for a Blind Cat is another publication available through
Sarah's website and like the first book has been written for owners of
blind cats, covering background information about the eye and ocular diseases
and giving practical step-by-step advice for owners.
Caring for a
Cat with Lower Urinary Tract Disease is the third NEW book in the series
and is a guide to help owners of cats who have the complex and distressing
condition of FLUTD so that they can provide their pets with the very best
care.
Sarah intends to produce
more of these informative booklets which will be invaluable to the cat-loving
public.
Due to the adverse
Australian exchange rates, the CVE cannot import and distribute the books
at an attractive price for Australian vets, so we are directing CVE members
to Sarah Caney’s Cat
Professional Ltd website where the books can be purchased
in hard copy or as a PDF file. They are an excellent client resource
which can be accessed by vets or their clients.

Surgical Approaches to the Bones and Joints of the Dog (DVD) (new updated release)
This new and revised digital edition of Dr Wing Tip Wong’s very popular DVD, last made in 2000, includes all the common approaches to the shoulder, elbow, hip, stifle and hock joints as well as the humerus and ilial shaft as in the original DVD. In addition, bone models have been introduced to highlight the approach. Recorded in digital format, the images are much sharper and clearer.
By virtue of the dynamic nature of this medium, Dr Wong is able to demonstrate, better than can be accomplished by text and static illustrations, the ability to achieve good exposure of joints and bones which is an important aspect of pre-surgical planning.
